Our renovation is complete and we've moved in - come see our new space!

Please join us for our open house as we celebrate all who have helped us realize our dream, including the craftsmen and dedicated team who created this special space.

While keeping the traditional style of our original building, we've incorporated new energy saving technologies, including solar energy, lighting, water conservation, and more.

We look forward to greeting you and showing you around our new office as we look to the future of the Peconic Land Trust!

The Autumn Herb Garden
Agricultural Center at Charnews Farm, 3005 Youngs Avenue, Southold

10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Autumn in the herb garden brings your focus to harvesting, drying and winter storage to preserve the harvest.

Learn from herbalist Heather Cusack to prepare for the planting of garlic, one of our favorite culinary and medicinal herbs, make and drink some delicious herbal tea mixtures, and take home several new recipes for use with your herbs.

This class will also include instruction on preparing fire cider, a winter herbal remedy which is also often used as a salad vinegar.

$20/person plus $10 materials fee. Space is limited, prepaid reservations required. Please reserve by September 29. Rain or shine.

Hike-Play-Explore: Discover the Long Pond Greenbelt
South Fork Natural History Museum, 377 Sag Harbor/Bridgehampton Turnpike, Bridgehampton

10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Bring the children for a morning exploration at the 19th Annual Celebration of the Long Pond Greenbelt!

Enjoy guided trail walks, play games, make crafts, and participate in a wide variety of activities provided by local environmental and community organizations.

Complimentary ice cream and lunchtime refreshments for all. This annual event is sponsored by Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt, the Peconic Land Trust, and the South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo).

Planting Bulbs for Springtime Color

Planning and planting for the spring garden starts now!

Meet us at Bridge Gardens for a workshop with the professionals at Summerhill Landscapes, and learn how to properly design with - and plant - a variety of bulbs that will provide early to late spring color in your garden.

Presentation will include information on sourcing, selecting, and planting bulbs. Every attendee will leave with bulbs to take home!

Workshop is in partnership with Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons.

$10/person, Free for Bridge Gardens and HAH members. Space is limited, prepaid reservations required. In the event of rain, we will move indoors.

Please join us for a fun and informative walking tour with farmer and cheese maker, Art Ludlow.

You'll go behind the scenes to learn what it takes to make Mecox Dairy Farm’s delicious cheeses – from Atlantic Mist and Mecox Sunrise to Farmhouse Cheddar and Mecox Sigit - how the special care of their dairy cows plays a role, and then enjoy a delicious wine and cheese pairing, conducted by a wine specialist from Wolffer Estate Vineyards of Sagaponack.
